My piano journey began at the age of 4 in Taiwan (Orff/Kodaly Music Methodology taught at age 3). Some of my mentors include Yulya Ioshopa, Jiang Li Rong, and Erna Gulabyan. My works have been featured both nationally and on the international stage. I have a comprehensive understanding of various piano approaches (Russian European, Eastern/Western Methods). Carrying an extensive knowledge of Piano Pedagogy and Music Theory, I’ve coached over hundreds of students of all age ranges and skill levels. Throughout the year, I give back to the community by performing at Kaiser Permanente Hospital and San Jose Airport. Violin
I started violin at the age of 7 and instantly fell in love with the sound of strings. It actually inspired me to learn the Cello as well. My mentors include Dr. Bruce Berg, Dr. Vitaly Leykin, Dr. Yen Ting Ta. I have performed locally, nationally, and internationally (including Carnegie Hall, Boston Symphony Hall, and Tokyo Concert Hall etc) with several Youth Orchestras! I have studied both the Suzuki Method and The Russian Violin School approach as well as multiple Scale Systems (Hrimaly, Flesch and Galamian). Through my violin journey, I have been lucky to be part of California Youth Symphony (Dr. Leo Eylar), El Camino Youth Symphony (John Eells) and lasty, accepted into San Francisco Youth Orchestra (SFYO), recognized as one of the finest youth orchestra’s in the world. Voice
My singing journey began at the age of 6. Multiple instructors have been a part of my journey, starting with a SLS (Speech Level Singing) certified instructor, Lorna Emata Goodwin and Greg Enriquez. It is the same technique taught to Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, and many singers. I've also studied Bel Canto Technique under Joseph Frank and Sandra Bengochea, who have worked with Opera Singer Luciano Pavarotti. I also studied Alexander Technique with Kate Conklin at Cal Arts, which teaches singers how to effectively relaxing the mind and body. I participated in multiple choral groups and ensembles including Crystal Children’s Youth Choir, Monta Vista Variations, SJSU Choraliers, Resounding Achord, Peninsula Cantare and many more. I've also had the privilege of conducting and leading numerous choral groups including Shin Shin Children's Choir, Tzu Chi Adult Choir, Monta Vista High School Choir, De Anza College Chorale, and Vintage Singers etc. I have also been involved with ACDA (American Choral Director's Association) for numerous years. In 2013, I received a Nationals Choir Director Award, which is the highest honor for choral directors. It recognizes the dedication and musical achievement of the top choral student. Aside from singing in choir, I've also been in several acapella groups including The Rits, Dynamics, and Spartones. In addition, Ive been in multiple church Worship Groups as the Male Lead Vocalist.
